Dear [FMP-if:field:salutation .gt. 0][FMP-field: salutation] [/FMP-if][FMP-field:corr_auth_last],

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 33rd International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves is pleased to inform you that we have accepted your abstract, number [FMP-field:ab_id], "[FMP-field:title]", for [FMP-if:field:pres_type .eq. oral]an [FMP-else]a [/FMP-if][FMP-field:pres_type] presentation at our conference in September. Your paper has tentatively been assigned to session [FMP-field:talk_label]. The corresponding day, time and location can be found on the conference website: http://www.irmmw-thz2008.org/program/index.html#schedule or by use of the key at the end of this message.

A total of 475 abstracts representing 33 countries have been accepted. All were reviewed and slotted by the LOC. 270 have been assigned as oral presentations (regular = 15 minutes, keynote = 25 minutes, plenary = 45 minutes). In some cases authors who requested oral presentations have been assigned poster slots, and in a few cases, authors who may have requested posters have been assigned oral slots. If you have been assigned an oral slot but cannot commit to a presentation, please email the LOC at irmmw-thz2008@caltech.edu as soon as possible to work out a re-assignment.

All abstracts must be replaced by final papers on or before June 30th. Oral and poster presentations should be a maximum of two pages and must be uploaded through the conference website at

http://www.beatricia.caltech.edu/irmmw-thz2008/registration/paper1.html

This website will be open from May 23 - June 30, 2008.

Keynote presentations follow the same process and may be a maximum of 3 pages. Plenary presentations have a 4-page limit.

In all cases, you must use your assigned 4 digit abstract number ([FMP-field:ab_id]) to upload your paper. It must be in IEEE eXplore compliant PDF format and must use the template that was made available for the abstract submission (can be downloaded at: http://www.irmmw-thz2008.org/abs-sub/index.html ). Be sure the IEEE copyright line appears at the lower left of page 1 and do not number the pages. Changes to the author list, affiliations, or paper title can be made on the paper submission site. Please make sure to designate which author will be the presenter. This information will appear in the program book. All names (first and last), affiliations, and paper titles should be in Title Case, NOT in all capitals, all lower case, or some strange mixture of the two.

Anyone who has not uploaded his/her paper as of July 1, and who has not made other arrangements with our general secretary or conference chair before this time, will be assumed to be withdrawing from the conference and will have their presentation slot re-assigned.

If you have not already done so, after uploading your final paper, please register for the conference at

http://www.irmmw-thz2008.org/registration

sign up for any of our planned Guest Program activities

http://www.irmmw-thz2008.org/program/guest-program.html

and book your accommodations

http://www.irmmw-thz2008.org/travel/index.html#accomodations.

Regular registration ends on June 30th and fees will increase on July 1st.

A final reminder: confirmation of attendance and a final session assignment will be emailed out to corresponding authors in early August. Thank you for your contribution and support of our conference series. The LOC is committed to making this an informative, enjoyable, and memorable event. We all look forward to being your hosts in Pasadena this September!

Yours sincerely,

Peter H. Siegel
Chair
